I was not responsible for the decision to stay at Viajero Salento Hostel in Salento, Colombia. That decision was made by a friend who lives in Bogota. She booked a private room for me and one for her and her husband. She found this gem of a hostel on Booking.com and the place was rated at 8.3 out of 10. To be honest, if I was the one making the booking, my tendency to pick places with a rating of a 9 or above would have led me to make a big mistake and snub this wonderful accommodation. What made this place so special? The views and the free yoga class. The room was pleasant and minimally decorated.
FYI, this hostel is not considered a small business as it is part of series of Viajero Hostels across South America: six in Colombia, five in Uruguay, and one in Argentina. Viajero Salento Hostel is included in Edna Explores because it is operated like a small business in Salento, it is affordable and the view is really amazing.
