Prior to visiting Dominica, I had never soaked in sulfur water although I had read about its healing benefits. To be honest, apart from admiring the beauty of the scenery at the places I visited, I was not really impressed by the water itself while I was in it and doubted its "healing effect." That was before I went to bed. The next morning, I woke up from a wonderful deep sleep and all the tension I was holding in my muscles was gone. Of course, I went to more than one. I went to three, from the “tourist trap” to the off-the-beaten-path one.
Screws Sulfur Spa

Screws Sulfur Spa is situated in Wotten Waven, a village in Dominica’s Roseau Valley, next to a main road. The design of the pools of sulfur water is Instagram-able! It is no surprise that Screws is also where cruise tours would take their customers prior to COVID-19 tourism disruptions.

Ti Kwen Glo Cho is also located in Wotten Waven, an area in Dominica known for its sulfur springs. The natural sulfur water spa is a quaint Dominican-owned family establishment with a lush man-developed landscape that is praiseworthy. It is a place loved by locals and tourists alike. It was my favorite spa. FYI, the water to shower after the sulfur soak is freezing at first, but you will get used to it or at least laugh your way through it.
Although probably not the best in Dominica, I am telling you about Soufrier Sulfur Springs because if you find yourself in Soufriere, my favorite village with the best snorkeling and diving in Dominica, you might as well visit the sulfur springs. There are two springs with pools you can soak in, one that is cold and one that is warm. Ask locals or people who own or run the accommodation you are staying at to give you directions as they are not easy to locate.
There are A LOT of sulfur springs in Dominica. Don't just go by what I say or what all the other blogs are saying. I guarantee you there are amazing ones not yet widely talked about online. Go out exploring and visit as much as you can. The best way to start? Meet a local, talk to them, ask them for suggestions and directions, and go. When you get back, comment below. I will definitely be going back because the Nature Island now has my heart.
