The decor and the views make you feel like you are in a quaint luxury hotel nestled in the mountains, all for a phenomenal price.
Then you step out of your cabin, and things change - but it is not a bad change. It just becomes obvious that you are actually in a high-end hostel.
The majority of beds available are in a shared room or a dormitory. The dining room is communal and open for meals at specific times – you have to sign up to indicate whether you want dinner. You hear chatter from travelers from all around the world. There are loads of activities offered, including horse riding, bird watching, a coffee tour, yoga on one of the decks, and much more. There are also ample opportunities for relaxation, including the various hammocks and Indigenous massage on offer. The onsite bar also makes really good cocktails, and the infinity pool and fire pit are fabulous features.
The hostel is located in the heart of a coffee finca (farm) called La Victoria, located 30 minutes (by motorcycle-taxi or jeep) from the town of Minica and 20 km (12.43 miles) from the city of Santa Marta. The air is cool, the property quaint, and the staff friendly. I stayed there for 3 nights and if was not because of the need to leave Colombia (due to countries closing borders because of COVID-19) I would have stayed even longer.
Working with locals, I provide you with uniquely curated experiences and recommendations that get you off the beaten track and into the heart of the community you travel to.
