Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood street in Cartagena, Colombia, you’ll find Arte Getsemani. This gallery showcases the works of emerging and renowned artists from the city. It is not your typical art gallery, and that’s what’s so special about it.
The gallery starts outdoors, pretty much as soon as you turn into the street. You’ll see vibrant and/or striking works of art lining the buildings. You may spot a piece on the wall that interests you, but you may not see where you can inquire about it. Don’t despair. Take a look on the other side of the street, where you’ll find a doorway with a small sign that reads ‘Arte Getsemani.’ Through that door, you’ll see more paintings and meet the store manager, if he hasn’t already appeared at the entrance.
You may even get lucky and meet one of the artists working on a new art piece. I was not that lucky. Maybe you will be.
Working with locals, I provide you with uniquely curated experiences and recommendations that get you off the beaten track and into the heart of the community you travel to.
