TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY (if PCR test is requested)
The process for getting a PCR test is cumbersome in Dominica and requires you going to two different places and going back and fourth. Here is the process.
1. Call +1 (767) 611-3905 to make an appointment. Do so after purchasing a ticket because your appointment will be set for you based on your flight date and the testing requirement of the country you are going to (e.g. 3 days before, 5 days before, etc.)
2. Obtain a form completed by the nurse at the Roseau Health Centre. Make sure to take a government issued ID with you (e.g passport, drivers license, etc.)
3. Pay for the test at accounts department in Dominica China Friendship Hospital also known as the Princess Margaret Hospital.
4. Present receipt to secretary at office of Primary Health Care Services.
5. Have test done at Roseau Health Centre.
6. Anticipate at least 48 hours before results are available and go back to the Roseau Health Centre to pick up your result available only in paper form.

Weather in Dominica
The weather in Dominica fluctuates. Please note that June to November is hurricane season which is also when hotels are cheapest and you can find discounts on a lot of outdoor activities. I went during hurricane season. That said, following the devastating 2017 Hurricane Maria, Dominica has become much more capable of handling hurricanes in the infrastructure and knowledge available to the population on what to do in the case of a hurricane.

“TOURISTY” THINGS TO KNOW
Do not pay for experiences targeted to tourists online
Online prices for activities can be steep. Rather, arrive in the country and reach out to the entity offering the experience and inquire on costs. There may be local specials you can tap into. Also ask if you can pay with cash and weather there will be a discount; cash at hands is in a lot of places preferred than online payments.
Some places take PayPal
If it happens the credit machine is not usable or you did not bring enough money, ask if the entity takes PayPal. This option does not tend to be advertised. While Dominicans are understanding and will let you come back and pay, if you are not staying close by, using PayPal may save you a trip back.

Transportation in Dominica
There are three options of transportation in Dominica from cheapest to most expensive and the pros and cons of all three.
Public transportation
The public bus system takes a little while to understand just ask any local and they can help you out. The main bus hubs are in the capital Roseau; just look for areas where there a lot of buses as there are several.
Bus rides cost between EC 2.50 to 10 (USD 0.93 to 3.70) depending on distance.
The buses can be a little crowded so either aim to be by a window or grab the front seat.
Most of the buses are not labeled. When you hail a bus down, ask where the bus is going and if it is close to where you are headed. You can also pay a little extra for the bus to take you to the exact location you are going.
Rent a car
I did not rent a car while in Dominica but two friends did. These are the recommendations and they paid between USD 50 to USD 60 a day.

Use a taxi Service
In Dominica most taxis are not marked as taxis. The ones marked as taxis and you can find using Google search are not the ones I would recommend having used a few. From inappropriate conversations to a driver who was watching tv on his phone while driving, the ratings on Google did not match. The best taxis I rode were the one recommended by people I had gotten to know. Below is the number of the taxi driver I felt was the nicest and yet professional in case you need a taxi recommendation.
